A product may need both; for radio transmitting equipment in the permit system, the radio model-approval certificate is also part of the network-access application. A network access permit controls listed telecom equipment connecting to public telecom networks and domestic sale. Radio management controls transmitters, bands, technical parameters and some station deployments. Run both scope tests: a radio model-approval certificate may be an input to a network access permit application, but neither approval replaces the other. ## Definitions ### China telecom equipment network access permit **Term:** network access permit A network access permit is MIIT's approval for a listed model of telecom terminal equipment, radio communication equipment, or interconnection equipment that will connect to a public telecommunications network or be sold in China. It controls the approved finished telecom model, its application evidence, mark, consistency, changes, and validity. **Why it matters here:** A network access permit does not itself approve the product's radio transmitter or a particular station deployment. Radio model approval may be separate evidence within the network-access application, and a radio station licence may still depend on the deployment.
